Interpretation of Language

Interpretation Of Language

Interpretation is an oral conversion of verbal communication or sign language from one language into another while trying to retain the essence of native jargon. It is also known as interpreting services.

Who does interpretation?

Interpretation is done by an interpreter who translates the ongoing conversation from one language into another. Our professional interpreting services transform a thought or communication in a source language into a communication with an equivalent meaning in a target language.

Our interpretation and translation language services aim to convey every semantic component as well as attitude and record and every intention and feeling of the message that the source-language speaker is directing to target-language receivers.

Modes of interpretation

  • Simultaneous Interpretation (SI): In this mode, the interpreter sits down in a booth wearing a pair of headphones and listen to the source language speaker and then interprets/communicates with the target language listener via a microphone. Stringently speaking, “simultaneous” is a contradiction as the interpreter cannot start interpreting until he /she understands the overall meaning of the conversation.
  • Consecutive Interpretation(CI): In this mode, the speaker halts every 1–5 minutes generally at the end of every “passage” to allow proper interpretation. The interpreter then steps in to concentrate what was said into the target language. This method has an enhanced accuracy of interpretation but takes little more time.
  • Whispered Interpretation: Also known as whispering simultaneous, the interpreter does not generally whisper, but simply communicates softly using voiced speech. This requires very close proximity to the target and can be exhausting due to the posture adopted.

Are interpretation and translation language services being same?

No, they both are different aspects of conveying messages. The term interpretation and translation are generally used interchangeably but are not identical. Generally, an interpreter works with verbal words in a particular setting andconveys a message from one language to another whereas translation refers to the action of transmitting a written text from one language to another.
